If you have a favourite place, a memorable holiday destination or somewhere that means the world to you, then let me illustrate it for you.
Welcome to Chester Bentley Illustration, where creativity meets professionalism. My name is Alex, and I am a seasoned contemporary freelance illustrator specialising in bespoke artwork. Nestled in the serene confines of Buckinghamshire, my home studio serves as the cradle of my creative endeavours.
My journey into the realm of illustration commenced at Amersham College, where I honed my skills in various artistic disciplines, including illustration, fine art, textiles, fashion, and graphics. Further refining my craft at Nene University in Northampton, I delved deeper into the art of illustration, laying the foundation for my career.
Embarking on my professional path, I ventured into the dynamic world of greeting cards, a time predating the advent of computers. Through diverse experiences and encounters with myriad styles, I cultivated my distinctive artistic voice, transitioning from studio roles to managerial positions with esteemed retail outlets.
I embarked on a fulfilling journey as a freelance illustrator under the moniker Chester Bentley, collaborating with a prestigious London-based Art Licensing Agency.
My work is a rich tapestry of projects, ranging from intricately designed calendars and diaries to charming children's books and bespoke stationery. Among these, my fervour for illustrating children's literature remains unparalleled, each project imbued with a sense of joy and wonder from inception to fruition.
Presently, my focus lies in modern illustration, drawing inspiration from the quaint locales and picturesque landscapes of my surroundings. Leveraging the versatility of digital tools, I infuse each artwork with a unique charm, often incorporating vintage newspaper elements for a touch of nostalgia.
Situated in the idyllic hamlet of Kingsey, Buckinghamshire, my creations are showcased at esteemed establishments such as The Book House in Thame, local libraries, and Haddenham Garden Centre. Additionally, my work is available for purchase online, ensuring accessibility to art enthusiasts worldwide.
Thank you for visiting Chester Bentley Illustration. Please feel free to explore my gallery or my commission page and discover the transformative power of bespoke artwork tailored to you.
Chester created some excellent artwork of our historic building in Thame town centre. He was great to work with from beginning to end.
